AutoEuropa, BMW, Ford Motor Company and General Motors are among the automakers that have turned to Budge for sophisticated custom covers and protective wraps needed to protect fragile auto parts in transit and vehicles during shipment. More recently, Budge began consultations with a company seeking solutions to protect plug-in hybrid luxury sports sedans during shipping from Europe to the U.S. Beyond the auto industry, Budge has partnered with many other types of industries. Eaton Industries—a company dedicated to making more efficient use of the world’s electrical power, uses heavy-duty pallet covers made by Budge to protect sensitive wind energy switchgear during ocean transit and after transfer to construction sites.

Budge also has a long history of developing protective solutions for various military applications, working directly for or in concert with leading government contractors, such as Lockheed Martin, The Boeing Company, and Pratt & Whitney. Past projects have included:

  • Covers to protect Alaska-based F-22 aircraft from moisture and icing during extreme weather conditions
  • Covers to protect the sensitive F-22 aircraft canopy during storage, transport and maintenance
  • Covers, with a custom, non-repeating, camouflage design, to protect the reactive appliqué armor tiles on the front and sides of the Bradley Fighting Vehicle

Unique cushioning covers made by Budge from DuPont™ materials made it possible for General Motors Corp. to achieve its ambitious goal of “zero defects” in the transport of more than 60 different bumper fascias. Budge developed the covers to work in conjunction with a new common steel bumper transport rack designed to increase pack density and slash shipping costs.
